Real estate company Vantage Commercial announced an agreement to bring Sprouts to West Deptford in Gloucester County.
Sprouts will open at the Southwood Shopping Center at 875 Mantua Pike.
A specific opening date has not been announced for the new construction project.
Corinne Giletto, director of Client Services at Vantage Commercial, said, “The residents in the area have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of an organic grocer for many years.”
The new 23,252-square-foot store will replace a former Aldi, which will be demolished and reconstructed.
“Both the ownership group and Sprouts Farmers Market are elated to introduce the Sprouts brand to West Deptford,” Vantage said in a press statement. “This addition promises to delight the local community, catering to the increasing demand for natural grocery stores in the area.”
Sprouts' first New Jersey store opened in 2019 in Marlton. It opened its second New Jersey store — and 400th nationwide — in Haddon Township in September. Sprouts also plans to open a store in Aberdeen on the Jersey Shore.
According to its website, the Arizona-based chain opened its first store in 2002 in an effort to make fresh, organic foods less expensive or difficult to find.
"We wanted to be different!" the website says. "No more weaving through a maze of narrow aisles without anyone offering to help. No more ingredient lists featuring 40 unpronounceable chemicals. And most of all, no more spending an entire paycheck for food from the honest effort of a farmer — not a factory."
